tobi - the black lace top ♥

Tobi - Kiley Black Bell Sleeve Crop Top*
Good afternoon girls, I am back with another Tobi* focused blog post and this week I am talking about a black lace top. It is a pretty rare occasion when I am not wearing a dress but I am obsessed with pretty, lace crop tops at the moment. This is part two of my Tobi collaboration and you can see my first blog post here. While I was browsing through Fairytale Kiss last month, it made me realise that I don't feature enough top and trouser outfit posts. I do usually wear dresses but if I am going for a more casual look, lace is a perfect way to feel dressy and still very 90's and I don't have to freeze to death if I am wearing trousers.
It is a golden rule on Fairytale Kiss that most of my wardrobe has to be inspired by the 90's and I think this outfit is certainly a 90's-00's winner. To be honest, I don't think you can go wrong with a pair of leather trousers and a pretty top, especially this cropped top from Tobi. Now we all know how much I struggle with my stomach area and I usually shy away from crop tops but this particular top from Tobi is the perfect length. I found it really flattering with a pair of leather leggings and best of all, the leggings I am wearing are not even high waisted. If you want your stomach completely covered like I usually do, a pair of high waisted trousers or a skirt would work wonders.
For the bag, I had to grab something glittery and gold just to spice up the colour palette for this look. I bought this clutch last year from M&S but you can find a similar clutch style here. I love that you can put the thin chain on your shoulder and wear it as a clutch too. As I said in yesterday's post, you can dress up or dress down an outfit depending on how big your bag is - or how sparkly!
I am in love with the wide ended sleeves on this black crop top and if you don't fancy wearing a strap top, this is a perfect saviour. I know it sounds strange because I am not shy with my daring plunge dresses but I think crop tops really make me conscious of my midriff area so I love that I feel really confident and happy to wear this particular outfit. Now for my heels, we all know I love a strappy sandal and I wanted to keep the focus on the lace top and I also made sure my black nail polish was on show. I am not crazy about wearing too many bright colours so an all black outfit suits me just fine.
For the top, you can zip it from the back and voila, it is very wearable and you can even wear a plain black top underneath it. I will certainly be pairing this top with jeans and over the knee boots. Overall, I am loving this look, it is incredibly simple but the detailing of the top really completes the outfit. What do you think of lace tops? Do you prefer trousers or dresses like me? If you would like more outfits that involve trousers, let me know ♥
