#tiptalk - how to unwind ♥

A few years ago I wrote a blog post about how to de-stress, I wanted to write an updated version today. I have been testing out a few new products and I have really switched up my weekly routine. Stress can be caused by a number of reasons and if you want to control and manage your stress levels, the best thing to do is write down a list. Write down what makes you feel stressed whether it is work, feeling tired or having too much to do. I cannot cope without writing my to do list and once I get this ticked off I can finally sit back and relax.
To be honest, it takes a while for me to switch off and really feel comfortable and de-stressed. I know quite a few people, (including myself), will still think about things in their head. My first tip is to switch off your phone or at least put it away for a few hours. Constant scrolling on social media and a bright screen is enough to give anyone a headache. Once I get home, tidy my room and have a shower, I love nothing better than making a green tea and getting into my big fluffy dressing gown.
My sister and I now have a routine where we get into our comfy PJ's, grab a healthy tea and get into bed to watch Golden Girls. If you don't follow me on Instagram, you would have missed how many times I've recorded the theme song. This programme is my favourite tool for unwinding after a long day. I am not a big fan of comedies but this 1980's sitcom is a true, American gem. I was pretty excited when I got Rebekah addicted and now this is our little routine. She can feel pretty stressed with her job and she notices a big difference when we sit back and watch the show.
The next little trick I have been doing is changing my music playlist, if I need to clean up, I'll swap my Spotify playlist for a classical Jazz remix, it makes a big difference to your mood and stress levels if you have calming music in the background. So if I am feeling like I need to relax, I swap my beloved Britney for something less pop based. My final tip is to use a face mask and oil that includes lavender, I find the ingredients really soothing and I love applying the Neom Perfect Night Sleep Pillow Mist on my temples before I go to sleep. What tips do you have for unwinding? ♥

  1. That sounds like so much fun! And definitely a great way to unwind. Golden Girls is such a great choice because it is funny, familiar, and always makes you think.
