I am back with a brand new The Diary post and I thought it would be nice to jot down what has been happening. We are now in week 10 of lockdown, I think...time is going pretty fast and I'm so settled in my routine with Sofia that I've not really noticed how long it has been. It was my 29th birthday on Sunday and Ollie drove to our local KFC and picked me up some food, we then visited my mum in the park and it was the first time I have seen her in 3 months. It was a pretty surreal moment for me because I know that lockdown is for the best but I miss seeing my family and more importantly, I miss them watching Sofia develop everyday.
I managed to get so many blog photos done at the weekend and honestly, I felt a little uninspired last week because I was struggling to balance Sofia, the flat, emails and blog posts at the same time. It certainly can be a struggle but after taking a few days to just focus on Sofia, I feel really motivated to create blog content again. It can be tricky when you only have your flat to create content in. I've taken new Femme Luxe outfit photos which I will be posting on the blog this week and I will also be talking about my birthday presents, I have been really spoilt this year and I feel incredibly lucky. Not just for celebrating my birthday but I am thankful everyday that my friends and family are safe.
This time last year, I was staying at The Pig hotel with Ollie. I took one of my favourite photos in their infamous bathtub so I thought I would recreate it at home this year. We may not be able to travel or explore in 2020 like we are used to, but my birthday has been amazing. It is my first birthday as a mum and it feels very surreal that Sofia will be a 1-year-old in June. She is now saying "mama" and "dada" constantly now and she has managed to stand on her own for a total of two seconds. She really is growing up fast and I do feel sad that my family have missed the past few months but in hindsight, our safety is the main priority.
My plan for this week is to write my new Femme Luxe blog post, shoot a new beauty favourites post and I also need to test a few products. I have also bought new containers to organise the fridge and I think the flat needs a big clear out in general, I need a big declutter session and hopefully Sofia won't mind being my assistant for the day. I saw Lydia and Jennie in the park last week and I am going to see my sister on Thursday. What a difference it makes to see your friends and family in real life and not on an iPhone screen! What are your plans for the week? Are you enjoying the sunshine like me? ♥
I am so glad you were able to see your family for your birthday. What a wonderful gift! Things are so different now and missing family is the hardest part.
