current beauty favourites #04 ♥

I really struggle to stick to routines, ask my gym card, even before the Coronavirus lockdown, I was blowing the dust off it. I've been watching quite a few episodes of Desperate Housewives and Sex and the City this week and I can't stop looking at how flawless the cast always looks. Yes, make-up plays a big part but I really do believe that you need a great canvas to start with - aka, your skin. Usually, television make-up is very natural and this just highlights how flawless and clear their skin is - even if you are in your 40's or 50's. Surgery aside, you can tell that these ladies have looked after themselves for decades and their hard work has paid off.
Take Jane Fonda for example, at 82 years old, she looks absolutely incredible. My sister and I watched her in the film the Book Club last weekend and we couldn't stop staring at her. My point being - I think this gave me a little wake-up call. I need to stick to a stricter, regular skincare routine. I have been testing a selection of skincare products for quite a few weeks now and I wanted to talk about my thoughts and experience with each one. I found the Derma V10 Brightening Clay Mask on the shelf in Poundland and I was intrigued. The packaging and box looks very similar to the L'Oreal Paris Pure Clay range - minus the £7.99 price tag.
I was curious to see if the results would be as positive as the L'Oreal Paris mask reviews. My first impression? This is a lovely mask to use, it left my skin feeling smooth and soft but sadly it does leave a slight red stain on my skin which takes me a while to clean off. The formula itself is great but the red stain is slightly disappointing but for £1, I can't really complain. It made me grab one of my favourite face masks, the Superdrug We Love Facemasks* range is still very close to my heart. The Kale facemask is still a firm favourite of mine, you can read my detailed review here. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and it is still one of my go-to masks. Although the Derma V10 mask didn't rock my world, I do want to try the other masks from this range. I would love to know if you've tried them.
The next product I wanted to talk about is from Sainsbury's. This particular gel is called My Skin Matters, the Purify Multi-Protection Micellar Cleansing Gel. I love using this to remove my make-up because as we all know, my make-up is very heavy. I usually grab a make-up wipe and apply the gel and start with my eye make-up. It is perfect for removing waterproof mascara and my skin just feels fresh and clean afterwards. It is designed as a cleanser but I also love using it for removing my make-up. You don't need to wash this off your face afterwards and you can then move onto your serum.

I know that most people recommend investing in skincare products but I know that every budget is different. I heard such great things about the Superdrug Naturally Radiant range so I picked up quite a few items from the collection. The Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Overnight Peel really made an impression on me. I apply a drop on my face about twice a week in the evening and it just leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. My skin has started to glow since I added this peel to my routine. Last but not least, I have been using the #6 Anti-ageing Collagen Filler, the #6 range is my go-to when I want to use their eye masks, so I wanted to see if the Collagen Filler was worth the hype.
Although the filler hasn't completely smoothed the wrinkles on my forehead or my eye area,  it does create a great base before I apply my foundation, similar to a primer. It does leave my skin feeling soft and I love the idea of using a product that just targets my fine lines. For £1 you can't go wrong and the #6 Anti-Ageing Hydrogel Eye Patches are certainly worth a try. They are so easy to use and they leave my eye area feeling refreshed and incredibly soft. Overall, I have loved testing out new skincare products and it has really motivated me to invest in my skincare routine. What do you think of my product picks for today's post? Let me know what products you want me to test next. ♥

  1. The red stain from the mask definitely sounds disappointing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these products! I hope you are having a great week.
