stila holiday collection ♥

On Thursday afternoon I travelled to Selfridges to attend the Stila Holiday Collection reveal. I was invited to meet Stila's head make-up artist, Sascha Jackson to discuss the new collection and find out the inspiration behind the new products and what my perfect foundation shade would be. This is the first blog event I've attended since having Sofia so I was really excited to get my camera ready and to hear about Stila's latest product launches. 

We all know I have been using Stila for years and I automatically associate party make-up with the infamous Glitter & Glow liquid eye shadows. I arrived at Selfridges with my camera and as soon as I arrived at the Stila stand on the ground floor, I was eager to get snapping. Can we please appreciate how beautiful Stila packaging is? The gold detailing always stands out for me personally and I love how strong and consistent the branding is. 

Sascha explained that the Holiday collection is inspired by Bond girls, a female spy that is confident, outgoing and bold. The colour palette of the collection is certainly intense but the formulas of the products are incredibly wearable. Sascha started showing us the new Suede Shade™ Liquid EyeShadow collection. Described as having a velvet-matte texture, the Suede Shade™ eye shadow collection has an incredible versatile colour range, whether you want to try a new trend such as a daring pop of blue or if you want to create a soft, smokey eye - you are spoilt for choice. 

After swatching the eight shades on her hand, Sascha explained that the formula dries on your eye lid which allows you to build the intensity or you can blend different shades together. The Bust a Mauve shade has to be my favourite, it has a warm undertone and would make the perfect smokey eye. To stay loyal to party season tradition, you can also add a touch of the Stila Glitter and Glow shades over the velvet shadows to add extra intensity. Next up we have the Magnum XXX™ Mascara which is the definition of intense volume. 

Sascha explained that the mascara formula has 1% diamond powder which makes the mascara formula a deeper and more intense black. The formula also contains Curl Flex, this resin helps create volume and length without the clumpy and drying part. If you don't fancy reaching for false lashes at your Christmas party, the Magnum XXX™ can be your magic wand for the evening. Sascha was actually wearing the mascara herself and the length and lash definition was pretty impressive. 

So there we have it - the highly anticipated 2019 Stila Holiday collection.
