Zara Black Satin Dress - Similar |
After heading back home from an event on Saturday evening, I was feeling pretty guilty that I didn't have time to take any blog photos earlier in the day. I know this is a pretty silly thing to feel guilty about but I love creating content for Fairytale Kiss and it feels really rewarding creating outfit photos and beauty flat lays that can help inspire people that read my blog. After my blog event, I popped into H&M and spotted a gorgeous pair of diamante earrings. It gave me a great idea for a photo opportunity and this blog post topic popped into my head.
If you are always late (like me..ahem) or if you don't have much time on your hands, getting ready can be a bit tricky. If you know Fairytale Kiss by now then you will know how much I love to dress up. I love feeling glamorous and I adore wearing pretty dresses and sparkly tops but there is a downside, I can take ages to get ready and if I want to be productive this can be tricky if I want to film a Youtube channel or shoot beauty products during the daylight. Taking 3 hours to get ready is not exactly ideal when it comes to managing my time so I've learnt some tips along the way that help me look and feel glam without spending hours of time getting ready.
Statement earrings are my biggest tool for transforming my look. I recently picked up these sparkly earrings from H&M and I am obsessed with them. I have been watching lots of biographies on Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor recently and I was pretty inspired by their love for large earrings. Sweeping your hair back in a low ponytail does wonders and I personally feel more dressed up with my hair up in these photos than the photo with my hair down. Statement earrings and a sleek updo is an instant way to feel glam without the hefty time schedule. It took me two minutes to brush my hair back and smooth it down with hairspray.
My final tip is pretty easy to guess - a bold lipstick. I have said this 100 times but a bold red or deep burgundy lipstick is the cherry on the cake. If you only have time to use one beauty product and you can't apply any lashes, a lipstick is your best friend. It can be incredibly dramatic but it will add a touch of 50's glamour to your outfit, Marilyn Monroe is renowned for her bold, red lipstick after all. I hope you like my quick and easy tips for creating a classical look that is perfect for a red carpet occasion or a first date! What do you think of diamante statement earrings? What tips do you have for transforming your look from day to evening? ♥
