love yourself delivery service ♥

With lockdown and coronavirus still in the air, I think we can all agree that buying food should be the least of our worries right now. A few months ago this was definitely not the case due to certain people bulk buying in supermarkets. Fast forward a few months and the food has slowly returned back to the shelves but this isn’t that straight forward for people that can’t pop to the supermarket when they want to, especially if they are self-isolating. I was contacted by the team at Love Yourself* and I was really excited to learn about the brand. I was kindly sent a selection of dishes to review and I wanted to share my honest opinion about my experience with Love Yourself.
Whether you don't find it that easy to get to the shops or if you want to change your diet, Love Yourself can deliver fresh food to your door, ready for the next day and all you need to do is pop the prepared meals in the microwave and some of the dishes are ready to eat straight away. The process is incredibly simple, you decide what type of menu you want and voila, freshly prepared food is delivered in the evening between 7pm-10pm, ready for the next day. I decided to try the pescatarian menu, I was sent one day from the diet plan and the five dishes included Coconut Yoghurt Cake with Summer Fruit Berries for breakfast.
I then had Smoked Salmon and Soft Cheese Spread with Carrots for a morning snack, Baked Salmon with new season Potatoes and a Roasted Pepper Sauce for lunch, Pineapple and Feta Salad for dinner and a Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie for an afternoon snack. My favourite dish has to be the Smoked Salmon and Soft Cheese spread, it tasted incredible and I even had enough left over to use it as a dip the next morning. Now, I am not very savvy when it comes to protein, carbs and nutrition but luckily the information is clearly labeled on the food packaging and you can simply scan the barcode into your My Fitness Pal account.
I'm not usually a breakfast person, but it was lovely to wake up and have breakfast ready and waiting for me. I was able to sit with Sofia and eat and it just felt lovely to not have to prepare my food like I usually have to, I could just focus on making Sofia's food. The Coconut Yoghurt Cake was delicious, I love that you can see exactly what ingredients have been used and it is a nice feeling to know that you're eating healthy food. I had been feeling a bit unmotivated when it came to preparing healthy snacks so I totally understand why delivery services like Love Yourself have become so popular. All the hard work is done for you and all of the calories and nutritional information are already worked out.
The concept for Love Yourself began in 2018 with Head Chef, Michal Snela, he has spent years in the restaurant industry and he has always been a big believer in healthy food. He believed that people with busy lifestyles, that don't have the time to spend hours in the kitchen, deserved healthy and delicious meals too. This is when Love Yourself was created and the brand has been growing in popularity ever since. I think that's why I like the concept of Love Yourself so much, freshly prepared food is my idea of heaven. Although I try my hardest, I'm really not a great cook and my portion sizes can sometimes be a bit too much. I can definitely see why people love ordering ready-made dishes, no fuss and no worry.
With lockdown approaching its 10th week, I have missed going to restaurants and taking a typical Instagram photo of my food. Yes, I know - first world problems, but we all like to eat food that looks appealing too. As you can see from the photos, the Love Yourself dishes are certainly Instagram worthy, not only do they look good but they are full of flavour too. I'm really glad I picked the pescatarian option because the salmon was delicious and I really love that each dish is flavoured and seasoned before you even open it. I didn't even need to add anything to each dish, they tasted incredible. Overall, I think the concept of Love Yourself is simply divine.
There are so many different menu options to choose from, so if you are a fussy eater or if you have strict diet requirements, Love Yourself can certainly cater to your every need. I've taken a look at a few other menus, and the vegetarian diet is now on my wish list - hello tofu and butternut squash! I don't think you can get bored with their menu selection because they include so many different types of meals, I was very impressed with the variety of my pescatarian diet and I would highly recommend this service. Have you tried Love Yourself before? Let me know what diet you would try
